Tupac amaru shakur (born lesane parish crooks; June 16, 1971 - september 13, 1996), also known by his stage names 2pac and makaveli, was an american rapper and actor. Though his recording career lasted just five years, tupac amaru shakur (1971-1996) is one of the most popular artists in history, with over 75 million records sold worldwide.

In 2017, tupac became the first solo hip-hop artist inducted into the rock & roll hall of fame.
